Deserve the Grave (From "Feelings", by Saleem Saim)

Oh God! Oh God! I was so brave
Then why should I fear the grave
You know I loved You all my life
I sailed through world with sins rife
I want to see my dear Lord
I have obeyed and loved my God
When my dear-ones walk away sad
I hear the grave say ‘tis my lad
You’re my darling, true you know
I loved you most among who go
I want to see my dear Lord
I have obeyed and loved my God
The grave assured me for my wit
For you I ain’t a dreary pit
She opened into Paradise
Made me sleep last likewise
I want to see my dear Lord
I have obeyed and loved my God

Hard Luck Hubbard (From "Feelings", by Saleem Saim
A man called Rough Hubbard
Bought him a tough cupboard
To see his porcelain was not broke
He locked the cupboard so no boy could poke
Happy on his china in safety more
He stood the cupboard a little near door
When things were set, his heart got rest
His round eyes shone as he shook his crest
“Now none can finger”, he uttered, “tut, tut”!
Most loud thud! He slammed the door shut
The door thus flew as fiercely as it could
Into the cupboard that shook so good
Thousand small crocks in a careless stroke
Chink, chink, chink, chink all china broke
Hubbard was so, so sad a lad
Bad was not he, his luck was bad

My Birth Day

Birth Day after Birth Day, life runs its race
Thank God for having leased more grace
Yes, pegged to my age is one more year
Remorse not for days flown out of gear
Life was well invested, not merely spent
What gained and what not, is not meant
Lived life the way destined, God saved me
For serving Him, another good deed to be
Nothing better, serving human is serving Him
Use gifted time wisely, pamper not your whim
An Invitation
All agog with expectation,
Had sent her an invitation

Hoping surely she’d come,
Hug me like a dearest chum,
Give my soul a permanent relief,
Rid of worldly loathsome belief,
But like an ever stern donna
Who brutally crushes what I wanna
Turn’d down mocking the invitation, for
She couldn’t come at the hour premature,
Left the hapless and lonely soul
On weary shoulders to bear the whole
Spurn’d weight of the distressed life,
Death as a discordant, imaginary wife.
Romance
Life lacking romance
Is gossip lacking piquancy
Love is a conscious trance
Love is soul’s tendency
Love needs sacrifice of self
Love looks for love in turn
Love is not sold on shelf
True friendship has it earn
Life is sheer meaningless
Lacking love for God
Let your love be selfless
Give fellows a loving nod
